Countries participating in the European Professional Competition for Carpenters for the first time can participate in the Competition by Invitation, which has a lower professional level. Countries can also send up to three competitors to the Competition by Invitation. The competitors are required to solve their tasks within a 15 hour working time. The competition rules and assessment criteria are otherwise the same. The countries participating in the Competition by Invitation can provide an expert for the jury who assesses both the competition tasks of the European Professional Competition and the Competition by Invitation.
