The European Professional Competition for Carpenters is a remarkable opportunity to demonstrate the quality of the training received by craftspeople. The Competition has high expectations of the competitors and top performances are demanded. In the same manner as we do as a company, the competitors only achieve outstanding results if individual abilities are accompanied by a winning mentality and team spirit. It brings me great joy to observe this. I am particularly impressed by how much enthusiasm the carpentry journeymen bring to the challenging tasks.

It doesn’t matter who wins: the experiences which the young craftspeople collect during an international contest of this nature, and the exchange with colleagues from other countries, are at least as important as success. I wish all competitors and spectators lots of fun and hope that many visitors will follow the fight for the title at the ROOF+TIMBER International Trade Fair in Stuttgart. This is the way to draw well-earned attention to the carpentry profession, a profession rich in tradition.
