The European Carpentry Champion 2012 in the individual competition is Andreas Fichter (19) of Germany. Silver was awarded to York Niklas Petersen (22), also of Germany, and Bronze was awarded twice – to Domise Moïse (22) of France and Stefan Oppliger (19) of Switzerland. In the team assessments Germany achieved first place, followed by Switzerland, with France at third place. In the Invitational Competition Casper Lindorf Andreasen of Denmark took first place, Phillip Glasgow of Great Britain came second and Róbert Tákacs of Hungary received the bronze. more

23 carpenters from ten countries will compete in the European Professional Competition for Carpenters 2012 and will demonstrate master class craftsmanship at the Stuttgart exhibition grounds.
They are already the best carpenters in their home countries and now want to measure their skills with other young colleagues from all over Europe. The European Professional Competition for Carpenters 2012 will take place in Stuttgart from January 31st to February 2nd, 2012 in parallel with the ROOF+TIMBER International Trade Fair 2012. The competitors, who are no older than 23 years old, have 22 hours – on three competition days – to create a roof truss model. The competition emphasises precision and accuracy of measurement, saw cuts and construction. The competition will be subsequently assessed by the international jury, led by the Italian Alexander Schötzer, timber construction contractor from the South Tyrol and European champion of the very first European Competition in 1994. The awards ceremony will take place on the final day of the trade fair, 03.02.2012, at 10:00 a.m. more

Both of these questions will be answered in Stuttgart at the European Professional Competition for Carpenters 2012 from January 31st to February 2nd, 2012 in parallel with the ROOF+TIMBER International Trade Fair 2012.
