The European Championships for Carpenters will be held from 28 September to 2 Oktober 2010 in Brunico (Bruneck) / South Tyrol. Under the supervision of a panel of judges, young carpenters from various European countries will be realising timber construction projects. All visitors will be able to watch this fascinating process as it unfolds, from the early planning stage right through to completion of the models.
The 9th European Championships for Carpenters is geared towards raising general awareness of the carpenter’s trade. Trade fair visitors will be able to get latest information about the field while carpenters from the participating countries will have the opportunity to compare their skills at international level. Participating countries will send up to three carpenters to the European Championships. Eligible for participation are skilled workers who have completed their carpenter apprenticeship and are not older than 23 years.
Once again, timber as a building material will become part of a unique event this year: young carpenters will demonstrate good practice in working with timber and share their creative approach with all interested visitors. As a result, visitors will get an all-encompassing overview of the performance and skills of carpenters in the construction industry. This will bring about great benefits for many aspects of timber construction.
